Women participation in MGNREGA declines to five-year low in 2020-21: Rural development ministry
“The Mgnrega Act requires that priority be given to women in such a way that at least one-third of the beneficiaries be women. Several measures have enhanced participation of women, which is more than 50%, far ahead of the minimum percentage of 33% as mandated by the Act,” Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, minister of state, rural development ministry said on Tuesday.
